How we can help eczema sufferers

Eczema is a general term encompassing various inflamed skin conditions.

Approximately 10 to 20 percent of the world population is affected by this chronic, relapsing, and very itchy rash at some point during childhood. Fortunately, many children with eczema find that the disease clears and often disappears with age.

Although eczema may look different from person to person, it is most often characterised by dry, red, extremely itchy patches on the skin. Eczema is sometimes referred to as "the itch that rashes," since the itch, when scratched, results in the appearance of the rash.

Many substances have been identified as itch "triggers" in patients with eczema. There are many contributing factors that may cause a flare-up.

  • Soaps
  • detergents
  • disinfectants
  • danders

Only since 1964 has it been recognised that the house dust mite can cause problems. A speck of dust may contain fabric fibres, human skin, bacteria, animal danders, pollen, grains, moulds spores, food particles and mites.

Most doctors will agree that getting rid of dust mites especially in the bedroom can significantly benefit eczema sufferers however, this has always been hard to achieve and to maintain until now.  Click here to book some time with one of our consultant and we will discuss how we can help you by eradicating the dust mite and their harmful allergens from your home.
